The telecom provider BT has launched a new service that it is hoped will speed up the way that consumers are given information and get support for any problems that they may have with BT services.
Live Chat allows broadband customers to speak online with a BT representative immediately through an instant messaging system, so long as the service is operational at the time of enquiry.
This service will help customers to find out about billing, product advice and even technical help, without having to pick up a phone and wait to speak to somebody with regards to their problem.
Live Chat is available to all 4.8 million customers of BT in the UK.
It has the potential to offer a real time alternative to computer users who wish to have an issue sorted out without having to leave their computer.
