
For some businesses the property slump, especially in the commercial sector, can be a godsend and means for businesses with cash to spend, this could be an excellent time to take on some prime retail premises.
Virgin Media has seen this opportunity and is expected to take advantage of cheap retail space in prime locations.
It has already acquired a couple of sites in the west end of London to go with the sites already open in Birmingham, Plymouth, Bromley, Leeds and Leicester.
The group could open up to eighty new stores within the year, from which the consumer will be able to see its products such as, cable television, broadband, phone and mobile services first hand and buy in store.
