BT adds Secerno to security portfolio

BT’s Quick Start security portfolio will now include database security software from Secerno, following a deal between the two companies.

BT’s Secure Networking Quick Start Service is a “short-focused assessment” that enables businesses to rapidly assess their network security, identify network weaknesses, and take cost effective action to fix current security threats and prevent future security breaches.

Adding Secerno’s DataStream software to the Quick Start portfolio will allow IT managers using the BT service to identify the intentions of all database interactions without any impact to the system that is being audited.

BT said its Quick Start Service is ideal for customers who, due to the economic slowdown, do not currently have the resources for a long-term security audit.

“Not all customers, at the moment, are looking for long-term commitments with a large financial implication, such as transformational programmes,” said Karl Smith, BT Global’s head of security assurance services.
