Sky rolls out first green button advert

The first set of adverts to use the green button are finally being launched by BSkyB, and the brands to take the lead in the satellite broadcasters’ advertising will be food manufacturer Sharwood’s, and Warner Bros.

Green button advertising allows the advertisers to offer longer content.

In fact the length of a piece can be as long as two hours and all the viewer has to do is press the green button during the advert in order to book the long form advert.

The content can either be recorded by the set top box or watched live after getting an on screen prompt through the Sky+ system.

Sharwood’s will be providing two exclusive recipes to show the versatility of its products, while Warner Bros will be using the system to present preview clips from the latest Harry Potter film.
