Trend Micro, a cyber security protection agency, has signified its commitment to the Russian market by opening the doors to its first Russian office located in Moscow.
Russia is considered the third largest EMEA IT network and is a key part of the future growth plans of Trend Micro, which reported sales of US$244m in 2009 Q1 a 5% increase from last quarter.
CEO of Trend Micro Eva Chen stated that the reasons for the growth include strategic alliances and the company’s new bigfix platform.
Recently Trend Micro has also partnered with The Carphone Warehouse to provide exclusive content security to the leading European’s independent mobile retailer.
According to recent details of the deal Trend Micro will provide security protection to all of The Carphone Warehouse’s consumers who purchase mobile phones, in particular Smartphones.
The measure is one that should help place consumer’s minds at rest as recent police reports estimate around 800,000 mobile phones are stolen annually in the UK alone.
Trend Micro additionally provides security measures for Malware threats to Smartphones via encryption technology and virus patches and solutions similar to those used on PCs.
The company predicts that by 2015 the amount of malware attacks will escalate from 1500 per hour to 26,500 per hour.
Other recent partnerships include the integration of Cisco home network defences which allows security details to be embedded directly into a wireless router.
