Channel Four will be putting much of its back catalogue online for viewers to watch episodes of their favourite TV shows.
In the case of long running series that have almost become cult shows, the fans will no longer have to pay out for those expensive DVD boxed sets, as they will be able to go online and watch the episodes as and when it suits them.
This is a major step by Channel Four, as currently its VoD service only allows users to watch programmes that have been shown during the past thirty days.
Viewers should not expect to find all of the channels’ content available to view online, as in many cases there are legal conditions put on how and where the content can be screened.
