It has been a long time coming but finally the beta version of Opera Mobile 9.7 has been released, the idea being to offer the user faster speeds.
Users will be able to take advantage of the Opera Turbo technology.
This works by rendering web pages onto the Opera servers and then compressing them before they are sent on to the user’s mobile phone.
Opera has a new upgraded browser engine, Presto 2.2, that is said to offer better performance.
In fact Opera is saying that it can render a web page around twenty five per cent faster than before.
Currently Opera 9.7 is only available for use with Windows Mobile based handsets, although a version suitable to use with Symbian, Android and Blackberry handsets could be in the pipeline.
