Manage WLAN from your iPhone

Network administrators can now manage wireless LANs direct from their iPhone with a new application released this week by Meru.

E(z)RF OnTheGo provides a comprehensive dashboard of WLAN data, formatted specially for the iPhone and iPod Touch, enabling administrators to manage networks from anywhere, at any time..

The dashboard can be customised to user requirements, and users can opt to receive high-priorty alerts direct to their iPhone handset.

E(z)RF OnTheGo is based on the E(z)RF Network Manager 2.0, also released this week.

The application is browser-based, and requires no downloads to the iPhone handset.

“E(z)RF OnTheGo gives new meaning to the phrase ‘management by walking around,’” said Sri Juvvadi, of Meru.

“Critical information from the E(z)RF Network Manager 2.0 desktop console is delivered right to the IT manager on his iPhone.

“This is more than just a convenience: now, even if the network manager is off site, he can take meaningful steps to address critical issues either from a Wi-Fi hotspot or using the cellular network.”

E(z)RF OnTheGo is available immediately as an add-on to E(z)RF Network Manager 2.0, priced at $499 per user license.
