Sky News to go HD next year

by David Allen

BSkyB has said that it will be launching an HD version of Sky News in the spring of 2010 following upgrades to the broadcaster’s studio and news gathering services.

This will mean that Sky News HD will become the UK only channel broadcasting in high definition.

It will be run alongside the current standard definition Sky News.

It is being claimed that the high definition service will bring news into the home, literally, as graphics will seem to have a 3D effect for the viewer.

Sky News shows once more that it is ahead of the rest with this announcement and is good news for the Sky+HD subscribers who will be able to view news in high definition for the first time.
