HTC may prefer Windows Mobile
Although HTC was the first mobile manufacturer to create an Android handset, the large mobile company prefers Windows Mobile, according to Frederic Tassy the owner of HTC France and Benelux.

When he was recently questioned by online mobile site Mobinaute if Android based handsets would do better in 2009, he replied that he believes that while Android will take off during the remainder of the year, HTC still has a close relationship with Windows Mobile.

Tassy commented that the most popular Smartphone in Europe uses Windows Mobile, the HTC Touch HD, and that they sell more products that use Windows Mobile then the Android operating system.

In fact, he commented that the HTC Touch outsold the Android G1 by a large margin, despite the fact the Touch was released later and is priced higher than the G1.

He continued to say that consumers should expect many companies to bluff and say they are releasing Android handsets, but they will delay the products for awhile after the announcement.

He declined to comment on how many Android mobile phones HTC can be expected to release, but photos have been leaked on the web of a rumoured third Android release from HTC.

Additionally, HTC has announced separately that it will not join the growing number of mobile manufacturers who create netbooks, as the while they generate buzz they are not a profitable investment when it comes down to sales and production costs.

In other words, they do create revenue but not enough profit.
