800MHz Samsung Jet Unveiled

Samsung unveiled the Jet smartphone last Monday. Its claim to glory – an 800Mhz processor. The Jet also include Samsung’s proprietary mobile Operating System based on Symbian. Samsung mentioned that this is a totally new OS built from the ground up. The phone also features Samsung’s dolphin web browser. It is a UMTS phone with support for EDGE/GPRS and HSDPA 3.6Mbps.

The phone is generally quite responsive especially when it comes to its touch screen features. Some disappointments include the fact that the phone is a bit on the slow side even with its 800MHz processor. However, Samsung reps said the software wasn’t final and was still being tweaked.

Overall, the phone looked very appealing as it was smaller than the iPhone and more compact than the Palm Pre. The 800MHz processor, while very attractive, is not that significant once you get to test drive the phone.

Additional specs include a 3.1-inch 16M WVGA AMOLED display, 5.0-megapixel AF camera with face detection, Smile Shot, panorama shot, blink detection, geo-tagging, and photo editor, 30fps video recording with video editor, and Music player with DNSe and SRS WOW Sound Effect that supports playback of MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV, DivX, XviD.
