Vodafone improves 3G with new gateway
by David Allen

The mobile phone and broadband provider, Vodafone, is looking to boost its customers’ coverage and reception by introducing a new device called the Access Gateway.
The device uses Femtocell technology to boost the coverage of 3G mobile phones and mobile broadband services inside the home or office, which is normally where the signal begins to drop off.
The device will go on sale on the 1st July with a price tag of £160, although it is believed that customers will be able to add the service to their monthly bill for just £5.
However if the bill is over £15 per month then is may be possible to get the device free of charge.
Femtocell devices have been around for some time, but this is the first time that this technology has been directly offered to the consumer in the UK.
