Fibre can boost home sales

Fibre to the home broadband can help sell houses, according to research carried out by the FTTH Council in the US.

It was found that fibre to the home broadband is one of the most important features for a future home purchase, especially for people who have experience of the fibre broadband in the old homes and simply do not want to go back to slow broadband services.

This is a real message that property developers here in the UK have the opportunity to put value into their new properties by building fibre networks into the development from the beginning.

This has taken place on a small scale in Kent, with Virgin Media installing fibre into new homes.

It is a matter of balance though, because all homes and businesses should have access to fibre broadband, not just new builds.
