Microsoft is teaming up with the France-based satellite broadcaster Canal+, offering the pay TV service for Xbox Live members in France.
According to reports, gamers will be able to access three thousand films, watch the French football La Ligue 1 live matches and have access to other television content too through the games console.
This service has begun because of the rolling out of the broadcaster’s video on demand service CanalPlay and the football channel Foot+ through the Xbox Live service.
This is just part of Microsoft’s plan to make the Xbox 360 games console a centre piece of all entertainment for the gaming audience.
This is a similar sort of deal that Microsoft has with the UK based satellite broadcaster BSkyB, which also provides programming through the Xbox Live service.
