Mozilla Corporation has released Firefox 3.5.1 to correct security problems with its web browser that were found earlier in the past week to be ‘critical.’
The new browser format corrects a security flaw with the software’s ‘Just-In-Time’ complier that works alongside JavaScript.
Those without the new updated version are at risk of a malware attack that can use a memory corruption problem to run arbitrary code following a crash of the browser.
Version 3.5.1 of Firefox also includes a few stability improvements and is available for free download at Mozilla’s official website.
It can also be updated via the update menu option by simply choosing direct download.
Users who have not yet installed the Version 3.5.1 of Firefox do not need the security patch or update, as they are not vulnerable to malware attacks through the same hole in JIT.
