TeliaSonera has followed current industry patterns with IPTV subscriptions rising to match the lacklustre performance of its traditional fixed line rental profits.

TV subscriptions rose by a little over 100,000 from last year in June, to about 711,000 by June 30th this year, and IPTV subscriptions saw a growth of about 23,000 last quarter totalling up to over 530,000 currently.

Currently, Telia is able to boast about 5,000 IPTV subscriptions in Norway, about 90,000 in Estonia, 85,000 in Lithuania, 3,000 in Denmark, and the largest IPTV subscription base in Sweden with over 350,000 subscribers.

According to Telia, revenues for its IPTV services have tripled and IP telephony produced over four times as much in revenues as the second quarter in 2008.
