It is a sign of the times that emails sent for work purposes often upset the person reading them.
In fact, this has gone so far now that around forty per cent of workers in the UK say that they are offended regularly by emails from work colleagues.
According to a study carried out by the free email service GMX, thirty three per cent of emails received by people caused offence simply because the recipient misunderstood the language of the message.
This is quite common in the work place, where emails are quickly scanned, rather than being read in full.
In fact, it was found that most of the reasons for being upset or annoyed with an email were in fact unjustified.
