It seemed to be years away, but BSkyB is actually going to be launching a 3D TV channel sometime next year.
Sky has already tested 3D TV and by all accounts these trials were a success.
However, for Sky to launch the channel it has to be sure that the content is available and that it is what viewers want to see.
Yet Sky must know the figures and there is the issue of the viewers having to buy 3D TVs, which run into thousands of pounds at the moment.
Nevertheless, the upside is that viewers will not have to buy a new set top box as 3D TV can be received through an existing Sky+ HD set top box.
This is a yet another milestone that TV has passed.
