MSN Video UK goes live

Amidst rumours about when it would launch, MSN Video has finally gone viral, launching a pilot test run to see if the UK customer environment will support the video streaming site.

Microsoft claims it is only testing the waters to see how well the UK responds to the free video streaming service that offers high quality feeds, but Microsoft should know by now that anything that combines high quality video with the word free is bound to draw some attention.

The pilot MSN Video service offers over 300 hours of free video streams that include many episodes of popular UK shows such a Shameless, Hustle, League of Gentlemen, and Peep Show.

MSN Video is also expected to be received well due to the fact that the service is the only current method for UK users to watch content on demand outside of using the BBC player which costs a subscription fee for usage.

The MSN Video service currently has the rights to broadcast All4Mdeia and BBC Worldwide television shows for free, although users will have to sit through a few ads along the way that are about thirty seconds in length.

At the moment, the product offerings may not be immense enough to hold viewer’s attention span, especially with the release of a Hulu UK video streaming version coming next month.
