Two new phones are seeing the light of day from newcomer INQ Mobile. INQ, a mobile phone manufacturer, headquartered in London, UK, is a new company owned by Hong Kong’s Hutchison Whampoa and was founded in 2008. It specializes in mid-range smartphones which integrate social networking features.
The two new phones mentioned are the INQ Chat 3G phone and the INQ Mini. Both phones do not have full browsers and has a Java-based operating system. But the main selling point for both of these phones, as with the previous phone launched by INQ, is its tight integration with popular web services and social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Furthermore, the INQ Chat 3G phone features a full-QWERTY keypad and looks like a colorful BlackBerry, and the INQ Mini, which is shaped like a candy-bar and comes with a standard cell phone keypad. The devices are expected to go on sale in six countries on Hutchison’s operator 3 later this year. These countries include the U.K., Ireland, Sweden, Italy, Australia, and Hong Kong.
