The bad news is that there is still not a release date for those who have been waiting for an iPhone TomTom satellite navigational application.
The good news is that at least Apple has finally set a price, listing the new application at £113.85.
Included in the package with the TomTom application is a branded cable, amplified sound, on the go charging, and turn by turn navigation.
This is all just to enable the iPhone to work as a TomTom navigational system, which seems like substantial price to pay.
This is in addition to the concern that receiving a call might take out the location features of the TomTom application, making it seem more worthwhile just to purchase a different GPS system altogether separate from the iPhone.
Or perhaps, if you are willing to deal with the potential trouble caused by multiple applications, at least cut the corners a little by purchasing the CoPilot navigational system that contains European maps for only £59.99.
However, it is worth noting that the TomTom application will hook the iPhone through the car radio, which could be a nice way around purchasing an in car charger and radio adaptor for those who do not have AV outlets on their car stereo systems.
