ESPN sued over US carriage dispute

The satellite broadcaster ESPN has been getting some good PR over here in the UK and Europe, after all the broadcaster has stepped in and saved the English and Scottish Premier League coverage of live games etc.

However, in the States there seems to be some issues regarding breach of contracts.

The Dish Network has in fact already filled a lawsuit that accuses ESPN of being in breach of contract.

This is because the satellite broadcaster has been offering competitors of the Dish Network better terms.

The case has been filled at the Federal Court in New York.

It focuses on an agreement between the Dish Network and ESPN from 2005.

ESPN is accused of striking deals with Comcast Corp and DirectTV Inc, which offer better terms than those offered to the Dish Network.

According to ESPN, it has done nothing wrong and will defend the case in full.
