L-Identity Solutions, which is based in Stanford, Connecticut has been successful as of late with their biometric division as they have received over $9.6 million in PIER mobile biometric recognition systems and handheld identity interagency detection equipment.

According to sources at the company, about two thirds of all the handheld orders and all of the PIER orders will ship before the close of the third quarter. All of the orders came from existing customers.

All of the devices will also be used in areas of conflicts. That breaks down to 10,000 handheld devices and about 4,500 PIER devices.

This is not the first big report that the company has been able to issue, as they won a large contract from the United States Army that totaled $8.3 million in May of this year.

In 2008 the company was able to report a total net income of $12.3 million out of revenues of $562.9 million.

President of the company and CEO Robert V. LaPenta stated that the new orders only help to reinforce the company’s reputation as a solid provider of technology that is unmatched by other companies in the nation when it comes to the US’s security and military personal’s safety.
