Usually during the school summer holidays it would be expected to see children playing outside in the street as they have done for years, but it seems that something is preventing them from leaving their homes.
It seems that the one thing that can keep a teenager in the home is technology and according to a survey carried out by the energy supplier nPower, the teenagers of today are spending as much as ten hours per day on TVs, computers, phones and of course video games.
Because of this, the term “Screenager” has come about, as these teenagers prefer to stay home and communicate with their friends through messenger services and mobile phones.
Around forty per cent of teenagers spend most of their spare time in their bedroom because that is where all of the technology is.
