In an announcement from Sony there was good news for PS3 owners in the UK, as they will soon be able to receive a new film streaming service along with access to the BBC’s iPlayer.
The announcement came at the top games event, the Gamescom Expo in Cologne, Germany.
This new iPlayer service is easy for PS3 users as they will be able to stream the BBC content through a link on the PSN.
At the moment, the only way to do this is by going through the PS3’s built in browser.
PS3 users will also be able to access the new film service though PSN starting in November.
This comes after agreements with the 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The film service offers the PS3 user the chance to buy or rent new or older films and these can also be downloaded to the PSP device.
