Twitter to add location tagging

The micro blogging site Twitter is bringing in an easy to use geo tagging service which could have the possibility of being a money making item too.

According to the co founder of Twitter, Biz Stone, the launch of this feature will make Twitter, and its users, location-aware.

The system will see the addition of the longitude and latitude to any posting.

This will have to be activated first by the user and those that do not use this feature will not see additional information added to each posting.

As with Google this geo tagging is going to assist Twitter to target related advertising for that region and therefore open up possibilities to cash in on its success, or so the people behind Twitter are hoping.
