Hammer, a storage distributor, will soon offer the Data Locker portable disk drive by Origin Storage, in an agreement with the company that lists Hammer as the exclusive distributor for the Nordic and UK markets.
The Data Locker disc uses a PIN system that provides extra security to users by allowing only authorised users who know the PIN number to enter it on the LCD keypad to gain access.
It also uses an encryption chip that allows for military grade AES encryption on the device for added security.
Additionally, it has a rapid erase option, a forcible attack detection system, malware detection, and a random keyboard.
Hammer Disk Business Development Manager, Gerard Marlow, said that the product is the perfect way to store and secure and is a great addition to the Hammer portfolio.
Marlow also stated that the Data Locker product has unique features designed to increase the security of consumers’ data, which is necessary in today’s society.
Managing Director of Origin Storage commented that due to the excellent reputation that Hammer has in the UK for supporting storage manufacturers, it is only reasonable that they chose to distribute the product using Hammer.
Transcend also decided to partner with Hammer for its distribution needs.
Hammer will feature a large range of products produced by Transcend, including flash cards, card adaptors, USB flash drives, and external hard drives.
Transcend currently holds the position of third largest flash producer in the UK according to market analyst group Gartner.
