BlockMaster’s 5x faster USB

BlockMaster released a new USB Flash drive that is hailed by the company as the fastest secure USB due to the fact that it processes five times faster than comparative models and is still able to offer users a 256 bit AES encryption of hardware.

The new USB is called the SafeStick SuperSonic and will cost interested consumers about £85 for the 4GB version and £133 for the 8GB model.

According to BlockMaster, the SafeStick can write at speeds that reach 23Mb/s and read at speeds that range up to 33MBs dependent on the speed of the computer that they are used with.

They are especially designed in order to support rich media files with a large potential to grow that need to be transferred with the aid of removable storage.

Additionally, the company said that the USB will allow users to access their files after plugging the device into the computer in a very short time period as compared to other encrypted USB drives.
Anders Pettersson, the Chief Security Officer at BlockMaster, stated that the reason unsafe portable devices are still the normal USB around the globe is because secure devices are not fast enough to satisfy users’ needs.

Thus, users are taking chances in situations where they should not be. However, Pettersson claims that this will no longer be the problem if the SafeStick is used instead because users can get to their files in just seconds.

The company also released the SafeConsole along with the new USB for enterprises who want to manage their SafeStick USBs.
