Those free-to-view satellite TV users who receive their services through the provider Freesat might be disappointed to hear that there is still no actual date being given for when the BBC iPlayer will become available on the Freesat network.
The speculation was that a beta version of the iPlayer would have been ready to launch as early as September, but as that is upon us, it seems that the launch may be delayed further.
According to some Freesat users, customers were contacted, informing them that during September further updates will be given.
Apparently, it is believed that this letter sent to Freesat users mentioned the fact that they would be contacted in September regarding the installation of the iPlayer.
This may have been taken as an announcement that Freesat users would be getting the BBC iPlayer during that month.
