The time is getting near when students begin to head off to college or university, and with so much going on one of the last things that they are going to think about is broadband, but this is a serious matter.
In order to ensure that students are getting the best deal that suits their needs, the regulator Ofcom has produced a broadband guide designed specifically for students.
The guide covers both fixed line and mobile broadband services, but more importantly, it discusses the options available such as pay as you go (PAYG) or contract.
What students need to think about, especially if they are living in shared accommodation, is length of contracts and data allowances.
This is where mobile broadband can be beneficial, as it gives the student an independent broadband connection, provided that the coverage is suitable.
