Most broadband users should be familiar with the term “unlimited”, especially as this appears in the marketing of many broadband packages, but it appears that millions of broadband users are not familiar with what the actual term means.
According to the consumer assist site uswtich.com, almost seven million UK broadband users are unaware that “unlimited” broadband does have its limitations and many consumers are exceeding their limit under the ISP’s fair usage policy (FUP).
It is understood from the study that around forty per cent of broadband subscribers think that they are able to use as much broadband as they please, but in doing so are in danger of exceeding the FUP and either incurring charges or restrictions to their broadband service.
