With BSkyB already planning the launch of a dedicated 3D TV channel sometime during 2010, there is a need for a mass produced 3D Television that is going to be readily available at a price that is right.
It seems that Sony has stepped up to the mark and would appear to be committed to produce a 3D Television as early as next year, which would tie in nicely with the launch of Sky 3D TV.
According the FT, the CEO of Sony, Sir Howard Stringer spoke of the development of the firm’s 3D Television at the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany.
Currently a 3D TV from Hyundai has a price tag of around £3,000 and despite the price tag and availability the take up has been steady, but with Sony’s announcement the market could be boosted, along with other TV makers getting involved in the 3D TV trend.
