The Orange Broadband network is back up and running following a day of downtime that affected both broadband and mobile subscribers.
According to Orange, it is not yet known exactly how many Orange customers have been affected by this problem.
It is estimated that Orange has around a million fixed line broadband and fifteen million mobile customers, although the problem may not have spread throughout the Orange network.
It seems that there were a series of issues, as first broadband customers suffered a loss of service and then the Blackberry service failed.
The latter was caused by vandalism at the Cable and Wireless site in Heathrow where a cable was cut, according to the Register.
The problem with Orange Broadband is unrelated to the Blackberry issue.
