Open IPTV Forum free downloads

The Open IPTV Forum has released the new Architecture Specification for IPTV elements and services within the IPTV infrastructure.

The new architecture is available for free download at the forum website within the publications section and is designed to meet the second release of the OIPF Specifications.

The first part of the technical specifications of the OPIFF was released and published back in 2008.

The Release 1 profiling specification is expected to be launched this month, with the Release 2 specification ready to support all requirements.

Additionally, the Release 2 specification is able to meet the demands of new features and services by enlargement of the standard service domain to include remote access, mobile networks, and notifications.

The new specification also provides remote management and access to TV functions so that users can better control their TV experience, additional features that allow a service provider to correctly gauge the activity of the service in an area, and new functions to make TV viewing, parental controls, and bookmarking easier tasks for the consumer.

Verimatrix has announced that it now fully supports the Marlin DRM standard, which is the standard adopted by the Open IPTV Forum, through its MultiRights technology.
