The Top 10 Broadband Awards, organised by top10-broadband.co.uk, is now in its second year.
These are useful awards for both the industry and consumers, because the awards are based on customer ratings and speed tests.
The winners are somewhat predictable though, with Virgin Media picking up the Broadband Innovation Prize for its fibre broadband service and Vodafone being awarded the Best Rated Mobile Broadband service.
The title of Best Value Home Broadband service goes to Plusnet’s Value package, but it would seem one of the better results goes to O2, which walked away with the Best Rated Home Broadband award.
Mobile provider 3 UK was awarded the Best Value Mobile Broadband prize for its 15 Gb data allowance service at a cost of £15 per month.

What no one seems to point out is that these “awards” are only awarded to broadband providers who top10 have affiliate deals with.
It’s not a valid industry award, it’s just an internal awards system for top10 to try and flog a narrow selection of suppliers.
No altruism at all!
