Digital TV saves Primeval from extinction

It was not that long ago when the plug was pulled on the popular Saturday evening show Primeval.

This disappointed a lot of viewers, but ITV has been struggling with loss of revenues and so the case was closed.

But now, in what can only be described as a dramatic turn of fortune, Primeval is to be given another chance but only with the help of ‘Watch’, part of the UKTV digital TV network.

The deal is that the next series, which is series four, will be shown on ITV and series five will be shown on the digital Watch channel.

This is the first time that ITV has co-produced a popular series with a digital TV channel.

Maybe ITV has finally seen the light and realised that this is a good way forward.
