UK TVs prefer Digital

Much has been made of the big digital TV retune due to be carried at lunch time today, so it is appropriate to find out exactly how many homes in the UK have already switched over to digital TV.

Currently it has been estimated that around eight out of ten TVs in the UK are able to receive to digital TV, though whether that is through a set top box or the built digital TV tuner is not mentioned.

However these figures are slightly deceptive because the regulator’s Digital TV Progress Report actually found that there are 24.3 million second television that were converted during the last quarter of last year, which is up by fifteen per cent.

According to the report, the number of households signing up for a bundled package to include broadband, phone and TV services is increasing.
