Best mobile phone bargains found online

According to phone comparison site, Omio.com, consumers can find the best mobile phone deals online, rather than with high street retailers.

Omio discovered that savings of up to 40% were available online on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset, compared with prices on the high street.

An O2 retail store offered an 18-month contract on the phone for £25 a month, with 200 minutes and 200 texts for £24.48 per month. This didn’t include the handset, which cost an extra £48.93.

In comparison, a clearance deal on Omio.com offered the handset for free, along with 600 minutes, unlimited texts, and half price line rental for the full duration of the contract, which works out at £9.80 per month.

However, networks do offer better sim-only deals than online stores.

Back in May, Omio was named best mobile comparison site by Web User magazine.
