Customers of the broadband provider Virgin Media have been noticing some issues affecting the smooth running of online services.
This issue has been particularly bad for the provider’s customers who are trying to play PC games online, as the service has suffered from serious latency problems over the past couple of weeks.
According to Virgin Media, it has started work on fixing the issue, which is not just affecting gamers but users in general as well, on Virgin Media’s ADSL network.
However the problem is different for PC gamers as each game requires its own signature so that the system recognises it.
The firm is working on a way to fix the issues, but would like gamers to let it know the exact nature of the problems that they are experiencing in order to do so.

Let it know the ‘exact nature of the problems’?? The problems are with VM’s shoddy network. I regularly get a 10th of the speed I should be getting (on 50Mb cable service) and the latency is a joke – regular 1 second ping responses. Packet loss can also be up to 50% at the worst times. Terrible.
