Orange opens concept store in Milton Keynes

The future’s bright, and the future’s Milton Keynes, or so Orange evidently believes as that’s where its flagship store has been opened today.

The concept is that the shop is a “multimedia store” which aims to “bring the best of mobile multimedia technology together under one roof.”

Also under that roof is a 70 inch screen with seating area for product demonstrations, a bouncy floor to put a spring in your step, and a gaming area so you can see what mobile phone games look like on a big screen.

The Motorola DEXT was also available to play around with as an opening day exclusive, too.

Sian Doyle, Director of Orange Retail said: “Milton Keynes offers the perfect venue to launch the first ever Orange Multimedia Store. Its young demographic and forward-thinking population plus the estimated potential 297,000 mobile users in the city, tells us there is high demand for the latest mobile, broadband and digital solutions.”

We assume the “young demographic” is what the bouncy floor has been targeted at. Maybe in the next multimedia store the company will go the whole hog with a bouncy castle.
