
There is no doubt that food and cookery programmes are big business across the broadcasting networks and therefore it should come as no surprise that Sky will be launching the Food Network on the 9th November.
This is joint venture with Chello Zone.
Sky already has the Good Food Channel, which is part of the UKTV network and offers a lot of the UK’s most popular TV cookery shows.
This is bound to be threat to the success of the Food Network.
According to the Food Network, it plans to produce around 1,500 hour of content a year.
It will be rolling out channels in both SD and HD formats, despite all of its content being produced in HD.
