Cambridge-based Amino Communications has secured a major deal to provide set top boxes (STBs) and digital video recorders (DVR) to US telecommunications network operator Matanuska Telephone Association (MTA).
Amino’s technology will be a key part of MTA’s expanded high definition (HD) IP STB deployment.
Amino will supply its A130 MPEG-4 HD single stream STB, and its A530 HD DVR, offering advanced IPTV functions, and creating fresh revenue opportunities for operators.
MTA, which is based in Alaska, provides 60,000 lines across a 10,000 square mile network area, offering broadband, IPTV and wireless services to residential and business customers.
The deal follows an announcement in September that Amino’s MPEG-4 STBS had been selected by Tele2 Netherlands for the roll-out of IPTV in the Netherlands.
