The boffins at Sony have created what they believe to be the world’s lightest ever laptop.
The Vaio X is a super-slim notebook at just over half an inch thick, and it weighs a remarkable 655 grams. About the same weight as a basketball (but less bouncy).
It has sleek aesthetic lines to match that compact nature, too, coming in stylish looking black, gold or carbon finishes.
In terms of the spec, the laptop has an 11 inch display, 2GB of RAM, a 128GB solid-state drive, bluetooth, wi-fi and a webcam. It will run Windows 7, and the expected battery life is around 8 hours.
And the all-important price? Details of that haven’t yet been released, although PC World in the States is estimating the range will start at $1300.
That would translate to about £800, although the actual price over in the UK will likely be a little more.
