Murdoch says, “You will pay for News”
by David Allen

For some time, there has been a volcano under the issue of the provision of news coverage to websites and other providers of news such as Google.
In a speech at a recent media meeting in Beijing, China, the volcano finally erupted when Rupert Murdoch told internet search engines that they should pay for news content.
He claims that the search engines are currently “stealing “ from news sites such as Sky News and Fox News.
He apparently has no love for the search industry.
According to Mr Murdoch, these search engines are thieving stories in order to make money from them.
He added that the plagiarists are going to have to pay a price for using his content soon.
These are harsh words from a news organisation like Sky News, which probably gets a fair amount of traffic from search engines.
However, as with the online newspapers, he seems to be serious about this.

Maybe all online news sources should just leave Murdoch’s businesses out of the search. maybe he’ll lose advertising dollars.

Lets hope the malignant Murdoch empire goes out of business. Sky blackmails sports fans into subscribing. Fox is a far right propaganda slime machine. In China, Murdoch is happy to suck up to a vile communist regime. Yuk.

I think Murdoch can say what he likes but no-one’s going to start paying for skynews or fox news online. He sounds a bit like another old schooler who hasn’t quite grasped the power of the internet yet.

It is strange that Mr. Murdoch should take such a position since it is difficult to think of what his organizations put out as news. Should we pay for propaganda? I feel that google news items are somewhat more journalistic than Murcochs and would be bothered if they even took him seriously.
Well, given his ego, maybe his attitudes are not so strange.

I’d rather do WITHOUT the news that pay this B**TARD! In any case, the upcoming Oct 17 “CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?” protests at all the major news media headquarters will REINFORCE to greedy Mr. Murdoch that what he has to offer is not worth the paper it’s written on. As to TV, most ordinary citizens are much smarter than the “insulated DC talking heads” who stand on the White House steps waiting for the NEXT DAY’S PROPAGANDA SHEET. So….Mr. Murdoch, what could we “possibly miss” by not buying your trash?
