Acer Introduced The Liquid Smartphone

Acer’s entry into the mobile market is going full throttle with the announcement of another Android device, the Acer Liquid smartphone. The Acer Liquid is powered by Qualcom’s Snapdragon chipset, and as mentioned, by Google’s Android 1.6 Operating System and features a touch interface.

The smartphone’s repertoire includes a camera with tagging capabilities, location information from its built-in GPS receiver that would allow users to know where and when they took the pictures. Of course, it would also include multimedia capabilities and internet connectivity which is done through HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) mobile networks.

Acer chose Android over other varieties of Linux because it has the best connectivity of any Linux OS built-in, said Jim Wong, president of global product operations at Acer during a news conference in London that was broadcast over the Internet.

What Acer is hoping for is that users will love its new touchscreen user interface.
