Channel 4 jumps onto YouTube

Channel 4 and YouTube have signed what is being hailed as a landmark deal to show 4′s programmes on the website.

The three year deal will see Channel 4′s catch-up service, 4oD (4 on Demand), fully hosted on YouTube. Both parties will split the advertising revenue.

As well as brand new programmes, such as the almighty Peep Show, 3000 hours worth of archived Channel 4 classics will also be offered. And Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.

According to a source who spoke to The Telegraph, the deal will see a “fully Channel 4 branded space” on YouTube.

And that fully branded space should be arriving some time early next year. Watch this space – well, watch that space, actually.
