Surfing Google’s Wave into trouble

When Google bring out an invitation only product, many people out there are upset that they were not “invited” and so when that much wanted invitation turns up in their inbox the consumer cannot wait to sign up.

However it turns out that rogue programs, designed to create Google Wave invitations, are already in action, meaning that the invitation from Google may not be what if first appears to be.

Google Wave is currently undergoing trials and the only way to get involved is by invitation, similar to when Gmail first came out.

Although these fake invitations appear to be genuine, they ask the recipient for their email address and password – hello!

This should alert the user that something is up and, as much as it will pain them, they should delete the invite.
