Netflix Video Streaming will appear on the Nintendo Wii
by Franz Bicar
The net was abuzz with reports of Netflix coming to the PlayStation 3 via a Blu-ray Disc. But they’re not the only ones who will get new Netflix streaming capabilities. Reports have circulated that the Nintendo Wii will get a similar feature real soon.
Although no official word came out of Netflix CEO Reed Hastings’ mouth, reports are saying that the plan has been in works for some time and may hit Wii consoles as early as the holidays. This would, in effect, introduce Netflix to a wider range of demographics as the Wii remains this generation’s best-selling console with fans ranging from young kids to older, more mature users.
More information on its developments will be reported in the coming months. Right now, it’s clear that all the three major consoles today will have video streaming capabilities and will not only be considered as a gaming machine, but also as an entertainment device.
