The subject of MPs expenses is something that politicians would wish everybody to forgot about, but with a new drama in the pipeline from BBC4 this is not likely to happen soon.
Naturally, being on BBC’s digital channel, this will be a humorous take on the events that have gripped the nation more than anything else in politics has for a while.
The drama will be written by Tony Saint who was responsible for the recent comedy dramas, Micro Men and Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley.
The story follows a five year campaign by the journalist Heather Brooke, as she attempts to gain detailed information on MPs’ expenses under the Freedom of Information Act.
The drama is in early development and if everything goes according to plan it will be aired in December 2010!
