It has emerged that Orange’s new iPhone tariffs will limit the amount of streaming users can undertake from non-Orange services.
A download cap of 750MB will be imposed, and “network protection controls” will be enforced after this limit to keep Orange’s 3G network from getting too bogged down.
That means heavy YouTube users or Spotify fans are likely going to struggle when it comes to keeping within the bandwidth controls.
This will be a further disappointment for some after the revelation that Orange wasn’t able to undercut O2′s existing price tariffs for the phone.
Still, if the move keeps Orange’s 3G network running more smoothly, that in itself will prove a major attraction for others.
